I was born and raised in Salem and currently employed as the shop manager with a small traffic safety company.

I received my Technician Class license in May of 2010 with the call KF7JYO. Ten months later I received my vanity call W7RMG.I plan to eventually go for my General upgrade. My hobbies are computers, electronics, horses and of course ham radio. I love fishing, camping, boating and exploring the great outdoors.

My first rig was a kenwood TS-440S which I bought before taking and passing my Tech Class exam. Other rigs to follow are:

Yeasu FT-847 - HF, 2M, 6M, 70cm

Kenwood TS-940S - HF

Kenwood TH-F6A HT - 2M, 1.25cm, 70cm

Yaesu VX-7R HT - 2m, 6M,1.25cm, 70cm

Yeasu FT-101ZD - HF

3 Kenwood TM-V71A's - 2m, 70cm

Kenwood TM-642A- 2m, 1.25cm, 70cm

Icom IC-2330A - 2m and 1.25cm.

Kenwood TS-2000.

My antennas right now only consist of three verticals, 2 tribands (VHF & UHF) and a 10m. Someday I'll get off my lazy keister and put up a yagi of some sort.

I'm sometimes active on 2m simplex, 146.500 & 10m on 28.460USB. I monitor the W7PRA Marys Peak Repeater System on 145.130MHz. The MP repeater is also linked to 146.980 Portland, Oregon - 146.940 King Mtn, Medford, Oregon - 441.325 Coburg Ridge, Springfield, Oregon and 444.825 Buck Mtn, Harrisburg, Oregon. Echolink node 50239 (K7TVL -L Buddys Diner). Websites http://www.w7pra.com and https://www.my513.net. I am currently the NCO for the Peak Radio Association Tuesday Night Swap Net which runs from 7:00 to 8:00pm.

UPDATE:

Now that I have moved, I purchased a 28ft contractor's construction trailer and spent 9 months in my spare time off from work and remodeled it into my new ham shack. Current antennas now include three yagi beam antennas, one for 2 meters, one for 70cm and one for 1.25 meters, all mounted on a rotatable boom structure. Plus a 10 meter vertical and a triband 2m/6m/70cm vertical. Recent transceiver purchases include a Yaesu FTM-400 mobile, a Yaesu FT-1XD HT and an Alinco DR-235 MKIII, 1.25 meter mobile. These days you not only will find me on the W7PRA repeater system on Tuesday nights, but also on one of three local repeaters in the Albany/Lebanon area. Frequencies are 147.300Mhz Pl 77Hz, 442.600Mhz DCS 023 and 224.000Mhz Pl 100Hz.

Catch ya on the air sometime, 73.
