New York City Keeps Its TV Station
#1
The City of New York owns one of the most valuable television stations in the country, a channel worth as much as $769 million in a coming auction.

Last year, officials said they were considering selling the station. But the city has decided not to cash out. It plans to keep broadcasting WNYE-TV, a noncommercial channel that airs such programming as “Firehouse Kitchen,” a cooking show with local firefighters, and “Neighborhood Slice,” a documentary series on city life.
